Blending

Color Study

Faucet ;9/22/11;Rexburg; 2:15 PM; f/2.8; 1/100; 50mm; ISO 200; Canon t2i; Macro Lens
Hotel Anthony; 9/23/11;St. Anthony; 7:05 PM; f/8; 1/50; 30mm; ISO 200; Canon t2i;
Red Chips;9/22/11;Rexburg; 2:20 PM; f/2.8; 1/200; 50mm; ISO 200; Canon t2i; Macro Lens
Valley Pana;9/22/11;Rexburg; 7:27 PM; f/8; 1/50; 30mm; ISO 100; Canon t2i;

So my color is red.  In some of the pictures it doesn't seem like the dominant color is red but if you go into selective color it will change a lot of the color in the image.  But for the faucet picture and the paint chipping on the bench I used a macro lens to capture the detail.  And the other two I just love them because of the sky.  Thats one of the biggest things that I focus on is exposing the sky correctly.

Cut Outs

1. Western America; Rexburg, ID;6/20/11; 11:34 AM; f/8; 1/125; Focal Length 35; Canon t2i
2.  Burning Skies; Rexburg, ID; 10/25/10; 5:12 PM; f/7.1; 1/125; Focal Length 21; Canon t2i

The truck photo was taken way out in the potato fields.  I really like to go out and just drive and see what I can find.  But it was an over cast day which has the best lighting for photography because there aren't any harsh shadows.  But basically this picture is straight out of my camera. I just made the red color of the truck a little richer. And the temple picture was taken last summer whenever there was like fire and made an awesome back drop for the temple.  But this photo is straight from my camera. There was no editing done.

So I like to do landscapes and I always drive and walk around for new locations to photograph and I like to go out in the potato fields and see what I can find so the monarch silo and idaho sky were shot about 10 miles out in the fields and for the most part are straight out of my camera.  The rexy pana is a blend of three pictures that I put together to make a panoramic view of the temple.  Stormy skies I used my tripod and a remote and pointed my camera is the direction of the lightening and just held the shutter open until a lightening bolt would appear and I would release.  Teton drive is one of my favorite photographs that I have taken, I went out to the drive in close to 11:30 at night and put my camera on a tripod and held the shutter open for around 16 minutes and this is what I came out with.  With the two portraits I've been trying a new technique of editing. Called the dragan effect which brings out the facial expressions of the person and defines their face more.
